Producer, WILDHOOD

Gharrett Patrick Paon is an actor-turned-producer and the president of Rebel Road Films. 2021 was a landmark year for Gharrett & the company. He filmed a 7-episode recurring arc on the fourth season of The Sinner and launched Bretten Hannam’s two-spirit feature Wildhood at TIFF. Rebel Road Films combined digital series, doc series and features were nominated for 8 Canadian Screen Awards in 2022. Gharrett was also a producer on the Charles Wahls short The Mohel, which held it's world-premiere at SXSW in 2021. Followed by Palm Springs Shortfest, where it won Best Live-Action Short qualifying it for the 2022 Academy Awards.

After working in distribution for 5 years, Luc Déry founded production company micro_scope in 2002. The company has produced over 25 feature films including Gabrielle (Louise Archambault), Congorama, C’est pas moi, je le jure, and My Salinger Year (Philippe Falardeau), Continental, un film sans fusil, and Tu Dors Nicole (Stéphane Lafleur), Inch’Allah (Anaïs Barbeau Lavalette), Drunken Birds (Ivan Grbovic) and this year’s Viking. All of these films have premiered in major film festivals (Cannes, Berlin, Venice, TIFF and Locarno) and two, Denis Villeneuve’s Incendies and Philippe Falardeau’s Monsieur Lazhar were nominated in the Best Foreign Language Film category at the Academy Awards.

Producer, SCARBOROUGH / Filmmaker, Compy Films

Shasha is a Toronto-based storyteller with over a decade of experience. Her work has aired on the BBC, CBC, ZDF, and Arte; screened at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA); been nominated for 16 Canadian Screen Awards and a Golden Sheaf; named TIFF’s Top 10; and shortlisted for an Oscar.

Producer, NIGHT RAIDERS

Netflix Canada’s first content executive, Tara Woodbury is in charge of developing and commissioning all Canadian scripted series. Previously as Executive Producer and VP of Development for SphereMedia Plus, Tara developed and EP’d the smash medical hit Transplant for CTV and NBC. As an independent producer, her sci-fi thriller Night Raiders by director Danis Goulet was a TIFF Gala, won the DGC Discovery Award, and is being distributed by Samuel Goldwyn in the US.

Producer, LA NUIT DES ROIS / Founder, PERIPHERIA

Yanick Létourneau is the owner and co-founder of PERIPHERIA, a film production company established in 2000 in Montreal, Canada, dedicated to bringing directors' stories to international audiences. Yanick is very involved in advocating for the interests of the independent film production sector in Canada, working with several groups on issues related to filmmaking and representation. He is a founding member of the UPPCQ, an association representing independent film producers in Quebec.

Recent producer credits include Côte d’Ivoire's Night of the Kings, directed by Philippe Lacôte, a Canadian co-production with France, Ivory Coast and Senegal, which premiered in Venice, followed by TIFF, NYFF, Sundance and many more. Acquired by NEON, it made the 2021 Oscar shortlist for Best International Film and won several awards including the NAACP Best Outstanding International Film Award in 2021. Night Of The Kings is considered one of the Best films of 2021-2022 by Rolling Stones Magazine, Esquire, BBC. His latest co-production, a historical drama by Robert Guédiguian set in Mali, Mali Twist, in co-production with Agat in France and Senegal has just been released in French theaters. He is currently in preparation for Maxime Giroux's first English-language feature, In Cold Light, in co-production with Lithium Studios (Toronto) and Belgium to be shot in Spring 2022.

Host / Culture Reporter

Claudia Hébert is a radio host and culture reporter for Radio-Canada. After years in Toronto, where she first worked as host of the film programs at TFO and then hosted a few shows for Ici Premiere, she is now based in Montréal. She can be heard on various programs like Tout un matin, Culture Club, and On dira ce qu'on voudra. Before working in the media, she trained as a filmmaker and directed many fiction short films (Les deuxièmes, Le déni).
